About my Other Yamaha

Pin_its' Long Haul bike, DR style.
Bike now has 14.3 hours on it. Still feels tight as new.

UPDATE @ 8.1 Hours

Suspension action is excellant. Can handle alot of abuse.
The 09 handles much better then my 06. Little changes go along way. The 09 drops into turns that my 06 struggles with. I really like this bike.

______________________________________________________

In comparision the the pre-08's...Expecially my 06 with an 08 piston and cams...

I have put 1.3 hours on the bike so far and here are some of the things I noticed over my 06...

Something that should be noted is that my 06 has the 08 piston in it and a Hotcams stage 2 intake cam.

The biggest thing I noticed about the 09 was the increased bottom end. It feels very torquey. Compared to my 06, I can run a gear higher if I want and it pulls just as hard. Infact, a step-up at Baja MX was only do-able in 3rd on my 06 where as I was hitting it in 4th all day on the 09.

The front end feels much more planted and it steers more precise. At first I had trouble because the suspension was still breaking in, but after it started to settle, the bike became easily noticable as better handling. I am still having some front end tuck issues and I can't seem to figure out whether its the tire or set-up issues. I run sandy tracks and I think the new, wider-base front tire might have quite a bit to do with it.

Rider compartment is awesome. My 06 felt so crampt when I bought it, and even after taller bars it still feels a tad cramped to me (6'). I put the bars to the foward setting in the mounts and the bike feels very comfortable and not cramped one bit.

Overall, I really like the bike. I still have to get the bike dialed in quite a bit, but so far this is what I have come up with!

Mods done in this update:
-Hardline Hourmeter @ 0.0 hrs $ 39.99
-Moose Racing Radiator Cages @ 0.0 Hrs $99.99
-Twin Air Filter @ 0.0 Hrs $26.99

Thanks guys.

Pipe is great, MXA claimed the YZ could be the perfect bike with a little more motor. The DRD completly opened up this bike. Even more bottom and it revs much further. Ive let quite a few guys ride my bike and they say its simply amazing!

Love Pillowtops, they fit my hands perfect.

Bike is treating me well, Im happy with it so far.

Right now a slip-on is not an option, since nothings out yet. I am still deciding whether to wait for the slip-ons or just buy the full system for the 07/08 bikes.

MJP- The rims still look great. The only thing that is showing wear is the red print on the sides of the rim. The red print on the rear is actually all gone and the front is only half there.

smart idea to put your white plastic from the 06 on it!!
save the new stuff for later. hows the black rims holding up?? ive heard a sharpie works well for fixing scratches in the anodizing.
